Karmen Holdinghausen, O.D., F.A.A.O.
Dr. Karmen Holdinghausen received her Bachelor of Science in Biology, graduating cum laude from Truman State University in Kirksville, MO. Dr. Holdinghausen pursued her Doctor of Optometry degree at Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL graduating magna cum laude. After completing her doctorate, she completed a residency in ocular disease at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, FL. She obtained her fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry in 2005 and is an active member.
Dr. Holdinghausen practiced in a surgical co-management center in Memphis, TN, for 17 years before joining Harman Eye Center. She was active in optometric education, held faculty appointments at Southern College of Optometry, and was a residency supervisor and residency extern director. Dr. Holdinghausen is looking forward to her role at Harman Eye Center and providing exceptional care to her patients.
Dr. Holdinghausen is married and blessed with four beautiful children and a sweet golden retriever and is a theme park enthusiast and especially enjoys roller coasters. Other hobbies include traveling and hiking with her family.
In addition, she loves all things sports and is a loyal St. Louis Cardinals fan.
